A fraudster from Orenburg sold rented cars to Kazakhstanis

A criminal case has been opened and is being investigated concerning the theft of four cars from residents of Orenburg with their subsequent sale. This case is under consideration in the SU MU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Orenburg" in the production department for the investigation of crimes geographically in the north-eastern part of the Leninsky district.A 21-year-old boy, a student at a prestigious Orenburg university, is accused of the crime. Investigators found that the young man was engaged in theft and sale of vehicles simply rented from the relevant companies. Previously, the attacker thought about everything in detail, exploring the marketcar rental. He was looking for ads on specialized softwarecar rental sites, met with their owners and rented vehicles, and then sold it on the territory of Kazakhstan.The young criminal was identified, found and detained in the course of operational search operations. To date, police officers have identified four facts of theft of rented cars:

  • Lada Granta

  • Lada Kalina – two pieces.

For the vehicles sold, the criminal received proceeds in the amount of about 150 thousand rubles. At the moment, police officers were able to return to one of the victims his car Dantus, the price of which is 466 thousand rubles. A criminal case has been opened on this fact of the crime under the article "Fraud committed with significant damage to a citizen" (Article 159 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The punishment provided for in this article may be a maximum of up to 5 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing, additional facts are being investigated and the suspect's involvement in crimes of the same nature committed earlier is being established.
